「Faults」とは、人や物の欠点、誤り、または弱さを表します。また、何か悪いことが起きた責任を指すこともあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「Faults」はやや形式的／中立的で、物（“mechanical faults”）や人（“character faults”）の両方に使います。よく使われる表現：find faults、admit your faults、it's not your fault。'mistake' と混同しやすいです。地質学では断層の意味もあります。
