Definition

「fault」は間違いや責任、機械の故障、システムの不具合、スポーツでのルール違反などを表します。

「It's my fault」は自分の責任を表す。「find fault with」は批判する意味。技術的な問題やスポーツのミスにも使われます。必ずしも故意の間違いではありません。

It was my fault that we were late.

遅れたのは私の**責任**です。

There's a fault in the washing machine.

洗濯機に**故障**があります。
