從監禁、危險或不愉快的處境中脫身。作為名詞（複數），指逃脫行為或提供精神解脫的事物。

可以是動詞（第三人稱單數）或名詞（複數）。'Nothing escapes her'意為她什麼都注意到。'Narrow escape' = 險些遇險。在電腦中指Escape鍵（Esc）。
