একটি গল্প, ঘটনা বা প্রক্রিয়ার শেষ অংশ; আবার, ব্যাকরণে শব্দের শেষে যুক্ত হওয়া উপসর্গকেও বোঝায়।

'happy ending' বলতে আনন্দের সমাপ্তি বোঝানো হয়, আবার 'nerve ending' মানে স্নায়ুর প্রান্তভাগ। ব্যাকরণে 'word endings' বলতে শেষের উপসর্গ বোঝায়।
