編集者は、文章や映像などの内容を公開前に校正・整理・改善する人です。また、新聞や雑誌、ウェブサイトの内容を統括する人も指します。

「book editor」「video editor」「news editor」「editor-in-chief」などの表現でよく使います。内容を改善する人と管理する人の両方を指します。ソフトウェアの「エディタ」とは別の意味です。
