音が壁などにぶつかって返ってくる現象や、過去の出来事や影響が再び感じられること。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
山や洞窟などでの物理的な音の「こだま」だけでなく、過去の影響やテーマが繰り返される場合の比喩表現としても使われます。「過去の反響」などに注意。
