階層エシュロン (組織内の階級)

Definition

組織や社会における地位やランク、または階層を指します。主に権力やステータスのレベルについて述べる時に使われます。

主にビジネスやフォーマルな場面で使われ、「top echelon」「upper echelon」「lower echelon」などの表現があります。カジュアルな会話ではあまり使いません。「ladder」（昇進）とは異なります。

He reached the highest echelon of the company.

彼は会社の最も高い**階層**に到達した。

Only a few people are in the top echelon of society.

社会のトップ**階層**にいるのはほんの一部の人だけです。

He wants to move up to a higher echelon at work.
