Definition

বাঁধ হল নদী বা সাগরের পানি ঠেকাতে নির্মিত দীর্ঘ দেয়াল বা বাঁধ। কথ্য ভাষায়, 'ডাইকে' শব্দটি কখনও কখনও সমকামী নারীদের অপমানজনকভাবে বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

প্রথমত বাঁধ শব্দটি ভৌগোলিক ও প্রযুক্তিগত প্রসঙ্গে ব্যবহৃত হয় যেমন ‘sea dykes’, ‘river dykes’। slang অর্থটি কখনও কখনও অপমানজনক হতে পারে, আনুষ্ঠানিক বা সংবেদনশীল পরিবেশে ব্যবহার এড়ানো উচিত।
