「小人症の人」は、病気により平均的な身長よりかなり低い人、「ドワーフ」は神話やファンタジーで登場する小さくて魔法を使う存在です。

実際の人に対し「小人」や「ドワーフ」と呼ぶのは失礼とされ、「小人症の方」などと表現します。物語では「ドワーフ」は中立的です。「dwarf planet」(矮惑星)のような他の使い方もあります。
