Definition

眠っているときに夢を見ること、または実現したいことについて楽しく想像すること。考え事でぼんやりしている時にも使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「dreaming of/about」は将来やりたいことを思い描くときによく使われます。「daydreaming」は現実から離れて楽しく想像すること。会話で「you’re dreaming」と言うと、実現が難しいことに対しての表現です。

昨夜、私は海のことを**夢見ていました**。
