潛水員是指使用特殊呼吸設備在水下作業、探索或參加運動（如跳水或水肺潛水）的人。

“Diver” 多指潛水裝備的潛水員，也可指跳水運動員。如需特指水肺潛水，請用“scuba diver”。不要與鳥類如“潛鳥”混淆。
