Definition

都市や地域の決まった区画で、行政や特別な目的のために分けられた部分です。

'school district'や'business district'のように、公的・行政的な分け方にややフォーマルな場面で使われます。一般的な「近所」とは異なり、広範囲かつ公式な区分です。
