어떤 것을 분해하여 더 이상 이전처럼 사용할 수 없게 만드는 것뿐만 아니라, 제도나 조직 등을 해체하거나 폐지한다는 뜻도 있다.

Usage Notes (Korean)

기계, 건물 등 무언가를 해체할 때나 제도, 조직을 폐지할 때 사용된다. 'dismantle a system'과 같이 비유적으로도 많이 쓴다. 작은 물건에는 잘 쓰지 않는다.
