غالبًا ما يُستخدم 'disgusted' للتعبير عن استياء شديد من شيء مقزز أو غير أخلاقي، ويستعمل عادةً مع 'by' أو 'with' (مثال: 'disgusted by the smell'). أقوى بكثير من كلمة 'annoyed' أو 'upset' ولا يُستخدم للمضايقات البسيطة.
