Definition

まだ知られていなかったものや事実などを初めて見つける、または気づくこと。場所、物事、情報などに使われる。

「discover a place」「discover the truth」や「discover that + 文」の形でよく使います。新しい知識や驚きを含む場合が多いです。「invent（発明する）」との違いに注意してください。

We discovered a small beach near the hotel.
