恐竜は何百万年も前に生息していた大型の爬虫類で、今は絶滅しています。大きいものから小さいものまでさまざまな種類がいました。

主に科学的や子供向けの文脈で使われます。いくつかの種類や化石を指すときは常に複数形。比喩的に「時代遅れなもの」を表す場合もあります（例：“この古いパソコンは恐竜みたいだ”）。
