Definition

金属や硬い表面につく、小さなくぼみや傷のこと。ぶつかったり、軽い衝撃でできることが多いです。軽い金属音を指す場合もあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に車や家電など金属製品についてカジュアルな場面で使います。複数ある場合は複数形を使う点に注意しましょう。「scratch（キズ）」は線状の傷で、意味が異なります。動詞「ding」はへこみをつける、軽い金属音を鳴らす意味もあります。
