“Detailing”主要有两个用法：一是指详细描述（正式或非正式语境），二是指专业的汽车清洗与抛光（car detailing）。汽车领域的“detailing”是一种深度清洁，不同于普通洗车。不要与“details”（细节信息本身）混淆。
