Definition

넓고 건조하며 대개 매우 뜨거운 지역으로, 물과 식물이 거의 없습니다. 드물게는 '당연한 대가'라는 뜻으로도 사용됩니다.

주로 'desert'(사막)의 복수형으로 사용됩니다. 드물게 'just deserts'에서 받을 만한 대가라는 뜻이 있으나, 매우 공식적이고 거의 쓰이지 않습니다. 'desserts'(디저트)와 혼동하지 마세요.
