Definition

人や物事がどのようなものか、見た目や特徴、出来事、感情などを詳しく話したり書いたりすること。相手にイメージしやすくするために使う。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「describe + 名詞」「describe something as + 形容詞/名詞」の形で使われる。'describe'は状態や様子を述べる時に、'explain'は理由や仕組みを説明する時に使うことに注意。
