Definition

へこみとは、叩いたり押したりしてできる小さなくぼみのことです。比喩的に、数やお金、気持ちが減ることにも使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

'へこみ'は実際のへこみや凹みだけでなく、'貯金にへこみができる'のように比喩的にも使われます。車や金属などの物理的な損傷に特によく使われ、'傷'（きず）とは違い表面ではなく凹んだ部分です。
