職場や組織でより高い地位から低い地位に下げられた状態。

「Demoted」は仕事や軍隊などのフォーマルな場面で使われます。「fired」とは異なり、職を失う意味ではありません。「promoted（昇進）」の反対語です。例:「demoted to assistant manager」など。

He was demoted after making several mistakes at work.
