Definition

一時的に意識が低下し、混乱した状態。興奮や幻覚を伴うことがあり、病気や発熱、薬によって起こることが多い。

主に医療現場で使われる語で、特に高齢者の急激な混乱を指します。「delusion（妄想）」とは異なります。
