“delaying” 通常是中性的，但用多了會顯得令人煩躁。常見搭配有“delaying a response”（延遲回覆）、“delaying a flight”（航班延遲）、“delaying treatment”（延遲治療）。沒有“postponing”那麼正式，也沒那麼有計劃性。
