“Deadwood” 指不再存活的樹枝或樹木,也用來比喻在組織中不再需要或無用的人或事物。

字面上多指林業用語,但商業場合常用比喻,形容無用、冗員或多餘事物。語氣中性偏負。常見搭配有“cut the deadwood”、“remove deadwood”。不指實體死亡。
