Definition

カーテンは、窓やステージ、出入り口などに掛けて、光を遮ったり、プライバシーを守ったり、部屋を装飾したりする布です。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

一般的に窓のカーテンを指します。“open the curtains”（カーテンを開ける）、“close the curtains”（カーテンを閉める）のように使います。劇場では幕の上げ下げを表す場合もあります。“blind”（ブラインド）とは異なります。
