「犯人」とは犯罪や問題を起こした人、または原因になったものを指します。人だけでなく物にも使われます。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
主にニュースやフォーマルな場面で使い、日常会話ではあまり使いません。「犯人」は犯罪者にも、トラブルの「主な原因」にも用います。 'the real culprit' = 「本当の原因」など。
