Definition

「Cubs」とは、クマやライオン、トラなどの野生動物の子どもたちのことです。これらの動物の1匹以上の幼獣を指します。

通常は複数形で、大型の野生動物の子どもに使います。犬や猫の子どもには使いません。また、英語ではスポーツチームの名前に使われることもあります。

The lioness cared for her three cubs.

雌ライオンは3匹の**子ども**を世話していました。

Bear cubs stay with their mother for about two years.
