細くて小さい川や水路のこと。主に田舎や森の中、町の近くなどに見られます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

アメリカ英語で「creek」は小川を指しますが、オーストラリアでは時には大きめの水路や乾季に水がない川も指します。「creak」（きしむ音）と間違えないように注意。'cross a creek', 'by the creek' などのフレーズでよく使われます。
