主にヤマウズラやウズラなど小鳥の小さな群れを指す言葉です。また、少人数のグループにも使われます。

狩猟や自然観察の文脈で鳥の群れを指す際によく使います。人の場合は文学的・ユーモラスに使われることが多く、日常会話ではほとんど使いません。
