把某物覆蓋在另一物上以保護或遮蔽它。也可以指書本或雜誌的封面，或包括某個主題。

既可指字面上用東西覆蓋，也可指抽象意涵（包括主題、代替某人等）。作名詞時是“書的封面”。不要與“hide”（隱藏）混淆。
