誰かの愛情や好意を得ようと努力すること、特に恋愛的な意味で。または他人の支持や賛同を得ようとすることも指す。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
恋愛に関してはやや古風またはフォーマルな表現。「彼は彼女に求愛した」のように使われます。比喩的に「支持を求める」「問題を招く」にも使います。「courted disaster」などは慣用表現です。
