Definition

物の数を順番に数えて合計を出すこと。また、何かが大事で価値があることを表す場合もある。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

'count money', 'count students', 'count the days' は一つずつ数える場面で使う。「Every vote counts」「What counts is...」のように重要さを表す使い方もある。「count」は一つ一つ数えることで、「calculate」は計算すること。
