Definition

植物の種のまわりに生える柔らかい天然の繊維で、布や糸、日用品などに使われます。また、その繊維から作られた布も指します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「cotton」は素材名として数えずに使われたり（「綿のシャツ」）、他の名詞を修飾（「綿シャツ」、「綿棒」など）することが多いです。「100% cotton」は「綿100%」と訳されます。
