Definition

人や組織の間でやり取りされる手紙やメールなどの書面による通信。また、二つのものの間の強い類似や一致を指すこともある。

フォーマルな語で、ビジネスや法律、学術分野でよく使われる。多くは書面でのやり取り（手紙やメール）を指す。類似の意味は主に専門的な文脈で用いられる。'correspondent'（通信員、記者）と混同しないように。
