二つ以上の物事が互いに関係し、一方が変化すると他方も変化する関係のこと。

主に科学的・学術的な場で使います。「positive correlation（正の相関）」「negative correlation（負の相関）」「strong correlation（強い相関）」などとよく組み合わせます。「causation（因果関係）」とは違い、一方が原因とは限りません。
