두 개 이상의 것 사이의 뚜렷한 차이; 동사로는 두 가지를 비교해서 차이를 보여주는 것.
Usage Notes (Korean)
주로 학문, 예술, 기술적 맥락에서 쓰임. 자주 쓰이는 구: 'sharp contrast', 'in contrast', 'by contrast'. 동사로 쓸 때는 'with'나 'to'와 함께 씀('contrast A with B'). 'compare'는 유사점과 차이 모두 살피지만, 'contrast'는 오로지 차이점에 초점을 둠.
