コンテストや競技会などで勝利を目指して参加する人々のこと。ゲーム番組やタレントショー、スポーツイベントなどで使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「contestants」は複数形で使われることが多く、勝つために争う人を表します。参加者（participants）より「競争者」という意味が強いです。審査員（judges）や司会者（hosts）と混同しないように注意しましょう。
