যারা কোনো প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশগ্রহণ করে এবং জয়লাভের চেষ্টা করে, তাদের প্রতিযোগী বলা হয়। ট্যালেন্ট শো, গেম শো বা খেলাধুলার প্রতিযোগিতায় প্রযোজ্য।

এই শব্দটি সাধারণত একাধিক ব্যক্তির জন্য ব্যবহৃত হয় এবং প্রতিযোগিতায় বিজয়ী হওয়ার লক্ষ্য নিয়ে অংশগ্রহণকারীদের বোঝায়। 'participants' বা 'competitors' যেমন ব্যবহার হতে পারে, তবে 'contestants' বেশি প্রতিযোগিতামূলক পরিবেশে বেশি ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'judges' বা 'hosts' থেকে ভিন্ন।
