আইন প্রয়োগকারী, স্কুল বা কাস্টমস কর্তৃপক্ষ 'জব্দ করা' শব্দটি ব্যবহার করে। এটি সাধারণ 'নিয়ে নেওয়া' থেকে বেশি আনুষ্ঠানিক। ধার দেওয়া বা সাধারণ সরানো বোঝাতে ব্যবহার হয় না।
