あることが真実や確実であると伝えたり示したりすること。または、何かが承認されたことを知らせるメッセージ。

ビジネスや日常会話でよく使われ、「確認メール」「予約の確認」などさまざまな場面で登場します。「affirmation」（賛同を表現する）や「verification」（正確さの確認）とは異なります。
