Definition

자신이 잘못한 일이나 비밀, 솔직한 감정을 솔직하게 말하는 것. 종교적으로는 신부에게 죄를 고백하는 의미도 포함된다.

주로 'confess to ...' 형태로 쓰이고, 숨기던 사실이나 죄, 감정을 밝힐 때 사용한다. 'admit'보다 더 진지하거나 감정적일 때 적합하다.

He confessed that he broke the window.

그는 창문을 깼다고 **자백했다**.

She confessed her love to him.
