間違ったり倫理的に問題のある行動を、見て見ぬふりをして受け入れたり許すこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にフォーマルな場面や議論で使われ、「認める」とは違い、消極的な容認を表す。「～を容認する」「容認できない」などの形で使う。

The school cannot condone bullying of any kind.

学校はどんな形であれいじめを**容認しません**。

We should not condone cheating in exams.

私たちは試験での不正行為を**容認すべきではありません**。
