裁判で重い罰を受けたり（特に死刑）、強く非難されたり、使用禁止とされたものを指す表現です。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
法律や道徳、建物の安全検査などで使われる堅めの言葉です。「condemned man」は死刑囚、「condemned building」は使用禁止になった建物を指します。「convicted」や「criticized」と混同しないようにしましょう。
