委員会は、特定の目的（予算、採用、イベントなど）のために選ばれた人々のグループで、議論・計画・決定・運営などを担当します。

職場、学校、行政、クラブなど幅広い場面で使われます。「form」「join」「chair」「serve on」などの動詞とよく一緒に使います。「department」より小さく目的がはっきりし、「group」より公式な印象です。

The committee will meet on Monday.
