重い病気やけがなどで深く意識を失っている状態。また、非常に眠い時や反応が鈍い時にも使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

医学用語として使われるが、日常会話で「とても眠い」や「全然反応しない」時にも使う。'coma'や'カタトニック'と混同しないよう注意。
