大佐は、軍隊や空軍、海兵隊で将軍のすぐ下に位置する高い階級の士官です。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「大佐」は軍隊などの階級で、警察や海軍には使いません。英語では発音が「カーネル」ですが、綴りと異なります。略す場合、『Col.』と表記されます。
