Definition

高校卒業後に通う、学位や資格を取得できる教育機関。国によっては、大学や大学内の特定の学部を指すこともある。

アメリカ英語では「college」と「university」はよく同じ意味で使われますが、大学内の特定学部を指す場合もあります。「go to college」「college student」などの表現に使われます。高校（high school）とは別です。

She will start college next year.
