さまざまな場所や時間から物を集める行為。趣味として切手などを集める場合や、情報やお金を集める場面でも使います。

趣味には「切手を集める」などで使われ、ビジネスや調査では「情報を収集する」などで使います。「gathering」より計画的な印象があります。お金の場合は支払いの受け取りの意味にもなります。
