Definition

コイルとは、ばねやワイヤーのように、円やらせん状に巻かれた物のことです。電気や加熱用のワイヤー装置にも用いられます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「コイル」「ワイヤーのコイル」「スプリングコイル」のように科学や工学、日常の場面で使われます。「curl」とは異なり、物がしっかり巻かれているイメージです。動詞としては「ロープを巻く」などにも使います。
